Criteria:
1. A distinguished legal career or leader in her area of practice. A qualified candidate will be well-known in her area of practice. (This may include, but does not require, influential legal decisions, publications, and speaking engagements.) It is suggested that nominees have been licensed (in any state) for at least ten years.
2. An active member of bar associations and in particular, the FCBA WLA. Leadership positions in bar activities and/or committees will enhance the application.
3. A history of public service. Public service criteria may be demonstrated by both legal or non-legal service. Examples include legal aid involvement, pro bono projects, leadership in bar associations, service on non-profit boards or other volunteer experiences.
4. A record of mentorship or otherwise encouraging women in the legal profession
