Section
1.
EXTENSION
OF
CONTINUING
EDUCATION
COMPLETION
1
DEADLINES.
Upon
the
expiration
of
section
seventy-nine
of
the
2
Proclamation
of
Disaster
Emergency
issued
by
the
governor
on
3
December
9,
2020,
or
a
section
of
any
subsequent
proclamation
4
with
the
same
effect,
whichever
is
later,
each
professional
5
licensing
board
administering
the
code
chapters
and
Iowa
6
administrative
code
provisions
listed
in
section
seventy-nine
7
of
the
Proclamation
of
Disaster
Emergency
issued
by
the
8
governor
on
December
9,
2020,
shall
grant
to
each
licensee
9
holding
a
license
that
requires
the
completion
of
continuing
10
education
requirements
an
additional
six
months
to
complete
11
any
continuing
education
requirement
beyond
the
deadline
that
12
was
suspended
by
section
seventy-nine
of
the
Proclamation
of
13
Disaster
Emergency
issued
by
the
governor
on
December
9,
2020,
14
or
a
section
of
any
subsequent
proclamation
with
the
same
15
effect.

EXPLANATION
17
The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
18
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
deadlines
for
the
completion
of
20
continuing
education
requirements
for
persons
holding
certain
21
professional
licenses.
The
bill
extends
the
deadlines
22
to
complete
such
requirements
by
six
months
following
the
23
expiration
of
section
79
of
the
Proclamation
of
Disaster
24
Emergency
issued
by
the
governor
on
December
9,
2020,
25
which
suspended
such
deadlines,
or
of
a
section
of
a
later
26
proclamation
with
the
same
effect.
